4080 Enclosures

So I went on and bought a 4080 10" enclosure and I am impressed. I originally had a basic 10" box from Car Toys when I got my install done. It kind of looked like a truck enclosure to me but I didn't think of anything of it after it was done. I thought for what I had the sound quality was good, but when I switched for the 4080 enclosure, the sound improved most noticably. Now, I'm not mobile audio buff, but comparing the two enclosures, my guess having more air space makes the difference. Not to mention 4080 enclosures are made with fiberglass. All in short, great enclosure, and since they are in Houston, I would recommend driving to pick it up as oppose to ordering it on line. There is a price difference.

Never knew they were in houston. Ive been looking at the 12" box for some time. How much did you save over the online pricing?

Whoa, what? They're in Houston?! I never knew that. I'd also like to know how much you saved over buying online.

The sound of the enclosure is mostly dependent on the subs air requirements. You can compensate one way or the other depending on how much power you're running to the sub. Fiberglass is not smooth on the inside so it reduces standing waves. So yeah, I prefer fiberglass. I have a G35 on my website that I did when I worked for Tweeter. It's one of the few builts I've done without fiberglass.
