Dicks meet was shut down.
Only went to two, but I've decided Killeen meets aren't worth it and will be going to the more organized, well-mannered Austin meets.
I didn't know the Killeen meets were not setup whatsoever. No permission. No planning. No control. No setup.
There is nothing to really get excited about in the way of cars anyway. At least not going to those meets. The Camaro and Vette guys should def claim their turf and not let the little kids in.

Good machine shop
Does anybody in the CENTEX area have a recommendation for a good machine shop in the area? I'm looking to get my exhaust manifolds ported and polished.
Also, I registered on the centexvq.com forum and never got approved. The next day I tried to get back on the website and it says something like "Sorry guest, you have been banned from this forum." Anybody know why this could have happened or who I can contact to fix this?

exhaust manifolds or headers? If they are headers and in the car I would say get aftermarket headers or not even waste the money. Not worth the labor to pull anything other than to put in a turbo.

^ It's the exhaust manifold, not headers. A friend of mine told me that by getting the exhaust manifold ported and polished you get about the same HP increase as you would if you put on headers. So I got online and researched this and it turns out it is true. Not only is it true it actually makes a lot more since than headers because they run cooler and they are cast iron not steel so they last longer as well. Plus it's a lot cheaper. Anyways.. for the moment, I think I have decided to put this off or not do it at all. I plan to put a turbo on some day but that day is VERY far away and I was just considering this as a temp fix for between now and then.

Again definitely not worth the labor to pull the manifolds ~ 4 hours then have a shop do the machining and taking another 4 hours to put them back in. Use the money for a Motordyne spacer and tune or as you were saying, save for you turbo.

Oh, I see. I misunderstood you. I just bought my car about a week ago and I haven't even seen it yet, lol (I'm in Iraq). Thanks for the advice. What shops do you recommend in the area for the tune?
