350Z suspension purchased

My 2003 sport suspension is shot. I was getting steering wheel bounce recently so I took the car in for wheel balancing at NTB. As I drove home I noticed that it felt exactly the same, the steering wheel continued to bounce. When I took it back to complain, my trusted long time adviser there pointed out that the Michelin Pilots were cupped, causing the steering wheel bounce. He suggested the front struts probably needed replacing. I believe him, so I just bought a 2005 350z revised suspension with 23K miles for all four wheels. I live in Sugar Land and plan on having Sals Auto Sport do the install. Any recommendations? Should I have the car aligned by Sals at the time of install or wait a week or so? Any ideas are welcome. I am pretty excited to get the 1 inch drop all around!

^^ That sounds like a good idea. Usually, Sal will already do the alignment for you, but I also suggest purchasing the life time alignment plan that he has. This way, if you ever go lower, he can always throw your car on the rack real quick and take care of it for you, free of charge.

In the time that I've had my coils installed, I have gone to Sal and Oscar 3 times. The two of them do an excellent job and are real awesome to hang out with. They will treat your car as if it was their own. You should post pictures of the drop when it is finished, so we can see it.

And by any chance, were you at the All Team Bash today? Our group had a real awesome turn out. You can check out the coverage of our turn out here:

Not at the bash. Great to hear recommendations for Sals. I did not know they had a lifetime alignment option. How much is it?

Its been about 2 months since I paid for the alignment. I checked my receipt and he did not write down a price on my invoice. So I don't know how much the lifetime is, but I cannot imagine that it would be more then $50. Don't quote me on it though.

Thank you for the info. I will probably get it. Could you guestimate the cost of swapping the suspensions?

Cato, sorry I could not guesstimate.

I would just give Sal a call and ask him. I was there earlier today and I told him that you might be coming by. He said something that he thinks that he's talked to you already, and if it wasn't him that talked to you, it may have been Oscar.

I spoke with Sal several months ago about turning slotted rotors. I have yet to contact them about the suspension install. I am waiting on Paypal to go thru and get the 350Z suspension delivered.

Ok then, that wasn't you. If you head over there, just let him know that you've been talking to me on the forum and just let him know that you're a friend of mine. He might set you up with a pretty good deal. Sal and Oscar have helped me out numerous times so I wanna repay him the favor by at least helping him get more customers. The two of them are very experienced when it comes to working with our cars and he will definitely answer any questions that you may have.

Again, just tell him that Son sent you over there and he'll hook you up.

350Z suspension arrived! I will visit Sals tomorrow or later this week to get an estimate for the install and alignment. I will mention your name.
I am a name dropper!

The awful wheel gap is caused in part by the 235/50 Michelin tires.
This size tire is a bit lower profile than the stock tires.
I can't wait to drop it the full one inch.
I will probably want more of a drop, but will settle with what this 350z suspension gives me.

Looks great man! I would love to see the finished product.

I hope Sal and Oscar help you out. The two of them are great guys. And the other guy they have there, his name is Danny, he's a cool cat too.

How come I never see you cruising around town? Your G a weekend driver?

This is my daily driver. I drive to work at 4:30 am up Eldridge parkway to Memorial drive and come home the same way around 1:30 - 2:00 pm every day.
With 129,000 mile on her, I try to keep the driving to a minimum. BUT, with the new suspension I just may do a bit more driving.

I spent four hours with Sal yesterday. Sal personally installed the 350Z suspension on my G35.
When he lowered off the lift, I just could not believe how beautiful the G settled into the new struts and springs.
The wicked fender gap over my Michelin Pilots is now gone. Kudos to Sal for doing a great job!
I highly recommend Sal's Auto Sport to all Houston area G35 drivers.
As soon as the new suspension hit the ground, Sal put it on the Hunter alignment machine and tuned the alignment to the 2005 350Z specs.
It was awesome to drive away with the new suspension! I had a grin on my face the entire drive home. Pictures to follow................................
