I too have kar98 mint but these are cheap to come by. I have M1 carbine on the way. Like the 8 mm, the 30 cal is sort of a pain to acquire. I've given up on surplus after a bunch of duds.

Have you fired it with your ammo? I carry a similar Taurus. 380 with hollow points. Had to switch to either fmj or ones with a powerball tip to avoid the round jamming everytime.
