Brake Sensor Recall

Just called my service manager to schedule an appointment to get my window grease streaks fixed since they had to order the parts...he made me aware that Infiniti released a recall today on the brake system...something to do with the sensor that makes the brake light go on...not completely sure of the details...but just wanted to give you guys a head's up. As far as I know this is nothing serious...just something that has to do with a corroded (sp?) sensor that makes the brake light go on, but just make sure to mention it next time you take your car in for service.

Re: Brake Sensor Recall

Thanks for the head-up on the recall dude. This may be related to what Merlin posted in late April about a faulty brake switch causing the ABS, VDC and slip lights to come on and stay on.
I've posted a link to his thread. Have a look and see if there's some correlation.

Hoshtaylor,

Do you have any details such as a TSB number or such that I can use to reference with my dealer? Even a name and phone number for the person at your dealership that clued you in on the issue so that I can quiz him/her on the problem?

The issue that Msedanman refers to below where the "Brake", "SLIP" and "VDC" indicators come on started to happen on my 2003.5 just a few days ago and my service advisor was trying to claim that it must be because it's time to do a brake job... Sounded fishy to me. I could see where the Brake light could/would come on with padsd running thin but why would the SLIP and VDC lights come on?!?! I told him that I would do an inspection myself and get back to him in a few days...

Thanks in advance!

Msedanman,

Do you have a reference for this issue where the "Brake", "SLIP" and "VDC" indicators come on simultaneously? Started happening to me just a few days ago. Links in this tread are no longer working.

Thanks!
