Tuning Advice

Hey Everyone. I am new a new g35 onwer and new to the site. I just picked up an 04 g35 sedan automatic black on black. i was dissapointed that the 04 has the 260 hp instead of 280 so am looking to make some mods to make up for it.

So far i am considering the Stillen Generation 2 cat-back exhaust, because of the claims that it is not too loud, and it adds about 20 horsepower. also i am pretty sure it will not void my warranty.

Is anyone able to tell me if those numbers hold true?

Also looking for a re-flash, technosquare seems to be the popular brand but i see cobb is creating an access port for the G. Is it woth waiting for the accessport, or should i stick with techosquare.

How do you feel about stillens hi flow intake kit, are there others out there that perform better?

If i can get an extra 30 hp out of these mods I would be happy. Any idea what kind of gains i would get if i did these mods?

I really appreciate your feedback

First off, welcome!

Bad news:
The HP/TQ claims from Stillen on the exhaust are total BS. It will give you more like 12hp.
The intake will give you a few more.

Good news:
The 260/260 motor was underrated and makes pretty much the same wheel hp as the 280 motor on most dynos.

Oh and the technosquare flash is a good choice as long as you don't plan on going FI in the future. A better option is to get all your mods: 5/16" or 1/2" plenum spacer, intake, exhaust, maybe headers and then get a unichip or UTEC and a full re-tune. This will give you better results because it will be for your car and not a generic tune.

That's for the tips. Funny i thought those numbers sounded kind of high for just a catback exhaust.

Any recomendation on a brand for the plenum spacer, and intake?

Motordyne: get the MREV2 for an 5AT.
