Do i need a reflash?

I am driving an 06 Automatic G35 Coupe with the following performance mods:

Fast Intentions Exhaust
5/16 iso thermal Spacer
Stillen CAI
Z-Tube

Also, power does not seem to be equal throughout the shifting. It feels jerky at first, fine in the midrange, and the top-end takes a while to kick in.

What do you guys think? Do I need the reflash and will I see some big differences? If you have the Technosquare, please give me your opinion.

nah...imho i don't think you need one. if you had the 5/16 spacer with a m-rev2, headers after market cats and a cat back then i would consider getting one. may i suggest a grounding kit for your 5at it does make your shifting points better.

MREV2 with the spacer will work wonders. Also look into test pipes and/maybe headers.

Gord's Grounding kit after that and I would look towards UpRev for a reflash.

A reflash would probably help some, maybe an 8-10whp gain would be possible. I would wait and finish out your mods and then go with a reflash after you're all done with mods.... at least for a while. If you eventually plan to go FI, then I would think about purchasing some type of engine management that could be used with the FI application later down the road, and not waste your money on a reflash.

reflashes on NA usually dont net you any more power, but they will make u quicker from your wallet being alot lighter

not true. I've had 2 TS reflashes

First TS re-flash bumped rev limiter, opens throttle plate all the way at WOT and adjusted A/F after several breather mods...

Second time adjusted A/F when I was running lean after installing HFC

Both times resulted in significant gains.

Like Mike (OCG35) said, thats not true.

Besides, the purpose of a flash is to get that AFR back to the ideal mark [and adjust timing]. If it yields power, great. If it doesn't, well, it still did its job.

It is almost essential for exhaust changes. And opening the throttle plate and bumping the rev limit is a nice bonus.

Think about getting UpRev's Osiris to flash your ECU.

Tell UpRev what mods you have and they create a ROM file that you flash to your ECU with Osiris. When you get new mods, tell them and they'll make a new ROM file so you can flash your ECU with the new mods.

After you get Osiris, use the included Cipher software to log the air/fuel ratio, timing, and other things to get a real customized ROM map to flash to your ECU. It's all included in the price of Osiris.

Go the Shawn Church's dyno day next Sat (there is a thread in the So Cal regional forum)... another option is Technosquare in Torrance.

sorry, TS has a good reflash from what I hear, however in my area there a questiona
'reflashes' where there no gains and it is questionable if a reflash even occurred.they also push reflashes for EVERYTHING. I would try an ecu reset and see if that solves the prob.

people who say you don't need a reflash with those mods are on crack.. you prolly get a modest power gain, but more importantly, you'll get a safer a/f. exhaust mods will lean out your a/f and reflash will fix that. also, it'll bump your rpm to 7200 up top. you should get a testpipe first though and maybe be a lightened crank pulley. forget headers.. too much of a hassle. plus if you want to go fi later, you'll have to dump it..
