newbie to tuning

Ok, I've still new to modding and I only done a few breather mods now.

I have the z-tube and K&N filter and the FI exhaust. I'm about to install the 5/16" plenum spacer (in a week) and eventually get the FI metallic HFC's also (in the spring).

I probably won't get any headers because i'm not going F/I and from what I read, headers won't do that much good.

I'm almost positve that I won't need a Tune or reflash if I just install the plenum spacer, is that correct?

Once I install the HFC, I will need a tune, correct? What kind of tune/reflash would you guys recommend? I live in Indiana, so I'm willing to go to Chicago if there's a good tune shop up there. Thanks!

Also, I plan on doing more small engine modes, such as maybe pulley's and other bolt on non F/I related mods. Will I need a new reflash after new mods?

I searched, but it looks like most people tune has boost, so I couldn't find a clear anwser. Thanks!

U dont NEED a tune at all. Tune is nice to get all the potential power out of those mods. U can have a fully bolt on car with no tune but it is going to make minimal power.

Yeah, but i talked to Tony at FI and he said he recommends one once you install the HFC.

What do some of you guys have as your tune/reflash with the same setup?

Is there a difference between tune and reflash?

I would recommend looking at your AFR once you install all of your mods. Chances are you'll be on the lean side.

If you are, I would suggest taking a look at UpRev. As for shops, no idea.

KapVu Post on ur regional section and ask which shop has Uprev Osiris to tune ur car. If u want ur car to run right and make power at the same time i would suggest to tune it. Uprev is the cheapest and most efficient way to go for a N/A car. Uprev is usually custom tuning. Reflash is already a preset program that they put it on ur ECU according ur mods.

Would I have to take it to a shop to get it tune? I read up about the Uprev Osiris and they have a mail in feature. Could I do that and would that be as beneficial as an tune at a shop?

Besides UpRev, what other tunes are there for N/A

UpRev will ask you to do some data logging with Cipher. After that is done, you email them the logs (excel spreadsheets basically).

Jared will take a look at them and correct the injector pulse for your WOT. After that, he will email you the new ECU.

Do a few more runs that way and they will round out your tune for you.

You are gonna want Osiris from UpRev. The total cost is ~700 as of right now.

As for other tunes you can pretty much go with any piggy back that is popular or standalone I'm sure. I'd call some shops in your area and see if there is one that has been working on the VQ. You might want to pop over to my350z.com and see if anyone is up in the Chicago area on there.

Ok, this might be the stupidest question, but I really don't know.

When you say do a few runs, do I just need to take it out to an empty road and do a few pulls from 0-100 or so?

I am sure that some company will give us a little better deal for 2 G's. my email is dskyjohn@yahoo.com or pm me on here, or instant message me on yahoo messenger dskyjohn

i am going to call a shop here in st louis tomorrow, if they can do it i will pm you. there is only one shop any where near me as far as I know.
