Matching Coupe HP

ok i tried to do a search but i got nothing. what the hell is the difference between the coupe and sedan as far as hp output?

I just dyno'd my sedan and got 230 rwhp bone stock after a serious cleaning of EVERYTHING/ new filters/ lubes/ resetting all ecu crap/ everything i can think of and these coupes are getting 270 (ballpark anyway)?! what gives?

does the exhaust really give you THAT much of a gain?

The coupes are not pushing 270WHP. That's your problem, you're comparing your figures with those that don't exist.

That's absurd...no idea where you're getting that 270 number from. And a mere cleaning is not going to be putting on massive hp for you...

Stock vs. stock, sedans are faster due to weight. I think you're confused....

a big rig can push like 1000whp but your 230whp can most likely outrun it....

and yes like everyone said no coupe is putting out 270whp STOCK, well maybe these g37's are.

it just isn't possible, 1st gen coupes are rated at i think 280hp FLYWHEEL, at the least you put 10% drivetrain lost which is 28hp so 252whp for the factory freaks. more or less most VQ35DE should be ranging between 220-245whp STOCK from what i've seen posted, maybe the AWD are puting out a little less.

He might be comparing flywheel HP to rear wheel HP

280ish HP flywheel puts down 225-235HP to the wheels depending on driveline losses.

In order to put 270HP to the wheels down, you'd need to output 310-330HP flywheel...again, all dependant on drivetrain losses.

I could see a G37 putting down 270ish, but of you are comparing 1st gens they should be about 220-240HP to the wheels

ah

guess i shouldnt have taken these guys at their word then.. seems like a bit of a pissing contest. That would make a lot more sense if they were talking crank and i was talking wheel.

edit: I was just upset thinking everyone was having more fun than i am

The answer is simple, the difference between the 280hp coupe and 260hp sedan comes down to paper. The 260hp sedan was underrated from the factory. Both cars have the same motors and put down basically the same power on the dyno. In the 1/4 mile, the sedan is typically fractionally quicker, but hardly anything worthwhile or significant.

how much hp will I get with Z-tubes? (those are the long headers right?)

should I get a motordyno spacer thingy?

why is the AT sedan 5 seconds slower than the super fast MT coupes?

what can I use for jock itch?

If a bear ***** in the woods does it stink?

do you think my G will beat a yugo? I have clear corners - btw, how many hp do those add?

Is it true that I can omit an induction tube by driller holes in my upper plenum?

how much better traction will I get by running 5 psi in my rear tires at the track?

Will I have better combustion from cold air - by hardwiring a small doorless refrigerator in my engine compartment?

I know most mods are placebo - so I was thinking of removing my windshield so it feels faster - how much would this mod cost?

Can I pull a trailer with my G?... I want to take it to the race track and park next to it in the pits - that's what the real fast cars seem to be doing...

Speaking of race track, do I need a helmet? I run 15.05

How much weight would I save by removing the fuel tank? Do you think I would have a faster ET (even though I'd have to stop and manually inject fuel every few yards)...

How about CAI - is it true that my engine will disintegrate if I drive though a puddle of water?

what offset do I need to run 27" rims?

Can I do all these mods for under $300?
