Q's For The Tuning Experts: Tuning & Oil Consumption

Ok here we go.

I really wanna get tuned in the near future. I will most likely go to Shawn at Church to do the tune.

BUT...

I also may have the infamous oil consumption issue on my 05 6MT. It's not THAT bad, but still enough to cause some concern.

Question is, would I "lose" my tune if I were to get the engine replaced due to oil consumption? Would the new engine require a re-tune?

I'd skip the tune until you have the OC issue dealt with. Infiniti can be picky enough about whether they replace the engine, so no point in giving them any more ammunition. In fact, before you go in to them to start any testing, I'd strongly recommend you take your car back as close to stock as you can. It's a very small price to pay for what could be a brand new engine. Then go get your tune.
