Split second and revup. same thing??

I bought my G and the spec sheet indicates that I have split second timing in regards to my engine control software. Is this the same as a revup? I saw a tuner last week and he suggested I go with the uprev osiris software. How do I know that this is not the same thing?

Split second is just engine control software. Revup is a model of VQ35 engine. The revup is in all 6MT 2005-2007 G35 Coupes. You have a rev-up and you are using the stock JWT engine software. If you are making good power and don't need anymore/anything else with your car, just stick with the split second box. It is reliable and generally has your car more on the safeside. I ran it for 4 years on my stock block with 0 motor issues.

It seems like you should have done a lot more research before you bought your car or modified it the way you have.

It's simple math. What costs more. Buying a G bone stock and adding all the components or buying one with everything on it and learning as you go? I bought this car with turbos and a built motor and have had only minor issues along the way. Minor being simple oil changes and new steel braided turbo lines.
@Canadian: BTW my car was built by the same guys who built yours.
