Smile Osiris Tune for my 05 G35 5AT

Went to Performance Motorsport smith town NY closest liscenced osiris tuner. First of all the guys there are very friendly and know their ****. Very cool environment. I had fun talking to the other guys there getting stuff done to their cars. A lot of VQs in there. So many 370z's lol and a lot of turbos (if only i had the money ) Now to what everyone wants to know. Baseline run was max 247hp and 220 lb/ft torque. After tune, 260 hp and 233lb/ft. I'm pretty happy with it considering its auto fail and its a mustang dyno. And if I'm reading it right avg gain was +9hp and +11 ft/lb. AFR was really lean so they fixed that for me.

Mods are K&N drop filter, Z tube, 5/16th MD plenum spacer, MD ART Pipes, and Fast Intentions Round catback exhaust.

My G35 Dyno with AFR printout

On the dyno

Vid of dyno run (stupid sentra reflection in the window)

Besides the power gain, how does the car drive? Throttle more sensitive? rev limit change? did they just flash in the osiris basic tune? then made changes?

throttle seems more sensitive but i think the tuner said he reset the ecu so no more granny shifting. I reminded myself to ask about the rev limiter but forgot because i got excited over the tune. not sure if it was a flash then tune but could be since the first dyno run after the tweaking it was at 255 hp and then every successive run after was a little bit more. hope that helps. basically this was wat i got:

• 1 UPREV License
• 2 CUSTOM Tuned Maps; Map 1 will be your standard everyday map tuned for your specific mods and car on 93 octane fuel and Map 2 will be a complimentary "VALET" map which will limit the the RPM to 3k and 20mph speed limit. (they also gave me anti-theft map)
• Remove Speed Limiter
• 100% Drive by Wire Throttle Response
• Air / Fuel mixture optimized for each individual car with their specific mods
• Ignition optimized for each individual car with their specific mods
• Timing advanced or retarded depending on each individual car
• Idle adjusted if need be

Nice, thanks for the write-up.

Btw, what's the loss due to the tranny?

Curious of your bhp. 20% loss brings you to 325 horse. I dont think youve gained 40+ from a k&n and plenum.

I'm sure it's posted in the forums somewhere. I'll go searching.

I'm kind of confused. I have exhaust and TPs too.

anyway stock autos usually dyno 215-225. so a gain of 35 whp from bolt ons and tune seem right.

In my experience, an exhaust is a requirement for the next set of bolt ons. It's not a hp freeing mod.

Then again I am used to older American cars.

Also 215 rwhp on a 282 crank auto is a lot of loss. 24%.

Looks like I've got a few more bolt ons to go.

The only thing I have for a mod is a Z tube. If I were to do this should I do all my other mods first? Does the Osiris work on 05 G35x sedan? And is there a map that will allow me to have all the power I want when I want it but when I dont that will improve fuel economy?

Thanks

Take a really hard look at the transgo too. It totally changed how the car feels- really snappy. Best 700 bucks I ever spent on the car in terms of performance difference pre-FI

i was thinking about this but i'm done modding this car enough money has been spent. 700 is a lot and i'm leaning to just spending money on maintenance from now on.on.

Your Dyno sheet does not indicate what correction factor used (very important) nor does it display the A/F? Plus your suppose to have a couple of more maps. You should always have a stock map, a map for your mods as you have aforementioned, etc.
