Hey guys. I have a 2006 g35 6mt coupe

I just ordered---
5/16 spacer copper iso thermal
MREV2
Megan Resonated Test Pipes
ARK GRIP V2 exhaust
also have Z-Tube & drop in filter



What would you guys recommend I do for tuning? Is the Osiris Standard tune reliable? Or should I go for the Osiris Tuner? Or can just the Stock ECU handle it?

Ive done alot of searching but still cant make up my mind. Any info would be appreciated!

likely, you probably won't be doing any self tune so the tuner isn't needed. Go with the E-tune if there's no tuner in your area. Getting on a dyno and custom tune is the way to go.

 

Does anyone know if it is possible to still do the E-Tunes off of Up-revs site (for $50) with the Tuner Version?

Or is that for standard ONLY?

My little problem is that I ordered the Tuner Version yesterday morning thinking I could still do eTunes with it..... But now im trying to contact Uprev but it is the weekend sooooo no reply's or anything. And also I cant find a tuner in my area that can use Uprev Osiris

I will have to see if I can get changed to a Standard edition. My Tuner is suppose to be shipped out Monday but I sent them an email so hopefully they will see it and get back to me.

 

The tuner version is way to complicated for regular ppl ... I regret getting it .. And if you have one of the earlier gs your going to need to re pin the obb2 port

 

Apparently they don't do etunes directly for the tuner version, but the protuners do, so even if you have the tuner version you can still get support from them. I know Vince from R/T has been posting a lot on other forums about doing etunes for people, I haven't spoken to him directly but I've heard he does good work.

Biggest benefit to the tuner version over the standard is the ability to make minor changes, like turning off check engine lights, etc, most people won't be up to the task of completely tuning their car from scratch. Unless you can find someone to give you a good base tune for your car, basically a copy of a similiar tune for a car with all the same mods, and then make some adjustments from there.

I like the tuner version simply because it gives you control that you don't have when you're dyno tuned at a shop or even with the standard.

 

Thanks for the responses. I did manage to get in touch with a shop about 1.5hrs drive away, and they will be setting me up on the dyno.

Really excited and I hope to gain a decent chunk of power. Il post dyno sheets after the build is complete in a couple months.

 

Are you still getting the tuner version from uprev? If you have that the shop should only charge you for actual dyno time... like $250-300

Make sure you get a price quote beforehand from the shop, they shouldn't charge more than $400 MAX
