Uprev Spark Tuning

Uprev Spark Tuning
I just bought an Uprev Tuner and have started playing with it some. The spark tuning portion is definitely a bit different from what I'm use to (mostly megasquirt and kpro).
I usually just gradually bump timing up, keep and eye/ear out for knock, and run datalogs through virtualdyno to get an idea what kind of power I'm picking up. I guess the whole burn time thing is throwing me a bit. Any suggestions on tuning the spark map or should I just attack it like I normally would?
My car is basically stock and I'm not looking to buy a dyno tune or even a mail in tune, just curious if someone would care to share their strategy. I'd love to see someone else's tuned table, but I'm assuming that kind of stuff is closely guarded in the G/Z community. I started out trying to convert the burn time table to degrees btdc but wasn't confident in what I was coming up with, maybe taking another look at that is the best option.
