ECU Part Number for UpRev needed info

Uprev emailed me back about tuning my late 03 Sedan. They need to know the ROM baed off of the ECU part number. They told me to call the dealership to ask. Can I locate that number he needs on the ECU. I wasn't sure if the number is somewhere to be seen or if I need to pull the ECU. I know some things don't work well if they are unplugged on these cars. This same dealership wants $120 just to plug the car into Consult 2 without anything else needed. So I of course rather get that info to Uprev myself. I don't need a tune asap but certain mods I will or won't do here soon depending on if the car can be tuned or not.

Thanks in advance

(PS I have so much going on with this car right now, its been a hassle lately.)

No, the ecu only has a portion of the part number written on it. You need to read the ecu electronics to get the full number. Do you have a cable?

You're going to need the uprev cable and license anyway to flash the ecu with the etune, so might as well bite the bullet now. Find seymore4 on this site. Same price as uprev and he will be able to turn around the tuning process much more quickly. He is an acknowledged master.

THIS! You can grab a cheap OBD2 bluetooth adapter and use Nissan DataScan II to get the ECU part number.

They have 3 different versions, so get NDSII (2) for our cars since they use Consult 2. Older Nissans used Consult 1, and post 08 or so uses Consult 3 protocol.

Here's a screen grab of NDSI showing the ECU part number, NDSII looks about the same

Torque Pro might even show it also.

Ok, explain more. I use Torque Pro daily so wonder if what I need is in there on ROM versions.

This is what UpRev sales rep said "You can call your local Dealership and ask for the ECU part number, it will be 23710-?????. If it does not start 23710, they’re giving you the wrong part number. We need to know the ROM."

Yours is showing starting with 91?

You would give them the characters that show up. The screen shot starts with 91xxx because that's my S15 SR20DET ECU. The point was to show you where to look for the code you need. The VQ code will be different. They need that whole number.

In Torque Pro, connect to you car, then open up Adapter Status. Scroll down to where you see Manufacturer, VIN code, and calibration ID. Give UpRev the "calibration ID" you see listed in Torque.

For example, my G35 ECU number is: CM41C

I'm ahead of you and emailed Uprev back. Our ECUs start with 23710 the first numbers that I listed in the quote and than end with whatever. The second number is the ECU type or From type which I wasn't clear about. Uprev said if the number didn't start with 23710 this wasn't the number they needed. Google search I found out like what you posted or what Torque showed me was the second number in the pn reference. Mine is 23710-AM603 but using any obd2 tool only shows AM603 that's why I wasn't sure at first.

Just for some gee-wiz knowledge, every Nissan ECU part number begins with 23710-xxxxx.

Even the Osiris ROM files are only 5 chars long (CM41C, AM603, etc)

I'm just answering what UPREV told me to find out and copied in their email response. Still waiting on a reply from them. I gotta get this organized because when I make a dyno trip its going to be a 2.5 hour drive to TopSpeed or Z1. The mods I do depend on if this car can be tuned without a $1000 ecu piggyback thing.

LOST180 are you saying that my AM603 ROM is a UPREV compatible ROM? They haven't contacted me back yet but this would be great news if someone can confirm?

Yes, that's the ECU part number they're asking for.

Yeah I know that's the number they need, I was just confirming that is a compatible ROM. I emailed Uprev again as well as Z1 so I can get something planned. Appreciate the help.
