The wife and I thought about a trip to gatlinburg mid-may anyway so we might be around. I usually stay in Townsend. You can get cabins with garages for a decent price and it is only a few miles from the Foothills Parkway that dumps out right at 129.

The time has come for us to do the unthinkable… close pre-registration for the event EARLY. No lie, true story, we’re “for realz.” Over 500 pre-registrants and we still have a week left in April. If your friends haven’t registered or paid, you should definitely scare them into it. The shirt order goes in, the food order goes in, the sponsors are done donating door prizes. That’s it. Last call, your bottle of liquor is put away until next year if you don’t have your shot poured. Noah’s Ark is sailing. Of course we still want you to come HANG OUT with us, but we simply can’t accept any more official registrations.
May 1 – pre-registration will be closed.
Also, May 1 if you haven’t paid (exceptions being those that registered in the last 10 days) your name will tearfully be removed from the list. We’ll miss you, we’ll pour a beer out for you…. But you will not be registered anymore.
While we’re at it…. Be sure to “LIKE” us on Facebook! Yes, joining the Facebook world of awesome pages, the ZDayZ “fan page” is here! http://www.facebook.com/OfficialZDayZ
Yes the Facebook group will still be around, yes we will still disseminate information by any means necessary short of carrier pigeon and a magical owl (Harry Potter isn’t real, and main characters die at the end… sorry) but you should definitely go LIKE the page (http://www.facebook.com/OfficialZDayZ) and then be sure to tag all of your friends in the old photos we’re uploading! I’m at 2008 right now, and moving closer to present day. Then ol’ Bryan Settle just popped up another half a gig worth of old photos! So keep an eye out for those too after we’ve sorted through and posted them!

OK, the ZDayZ staff has had a pow-wow and we're making some adjustments and clarifications!
…. and by staff I mean Bryan.
…. and by pow-wow I mean he was thinking about this over a beer.
We want everyone to be able to enjoy this event, since… well, let’s be honest – it’s a helluva unique experience! But we have to try to have some level of organization to allow us to plan for however many people may show up.
1. ZDayZ is closing pre-registration and car show registration on May 1. So, May 1st, no more car show entries allowed, and no more pre-registrations are going to be accepted. We need time to process shirts, food, space, parking, and well… everything else! And we’re not quite sure how we’re going to fit the car show participants as is, so - if you want a piece of this action you better get in where you fit in! Because car show registration closes for good on Tuesday. (meaning pay up by next Tuesday)
2. That leaves us with late decision makers: Game on for on-site registrations. We want you to join us! Yes, that means we're accepting onsite registrations starting as early as we get there! Shirts will be limited and we’ll accommodate you the best we can. Seating at the dinners will be interesting, so I suggest thinking about tossing a folding camping chair in your truck/hatch! (just kidding… sort of) But when you boil it down we’re one big family, so the more the merrier. So come May 16th, you find out you have that weekend off - a.) start begging for couch or floor space, b.) hightail it all the way to Fontana Village in North Carolina, c.) and we’ll see you in the morning!

1. If you haven’t registered by May 1, don’t worry, just show up with cash! (Where you sleep is up to you, ha!) But there is plenty of overflow lodging that’s fairly close, you can read more about it here: http://zdayz.com/event_information/lodging/
2. With the exception of the Car Show (which will be closed permanently May 1st) we encourage you to join us for the apparently epic ZDayZ 2012, May 17-20.
3. Have the time of your life starting May 17th.

^Yeah, you go get your one run in on the Dragon, early in the A.M. when it's fairly empty... and then we'll show you all the other epic roads around the area that aren't crowded

Oh whatever... you know full well since the last time you... ahem... "drove alongside" my car, I've got a new true dual exhaust, plenum spacer, TB spacer, e-fan mod... and by zdayz, coilovers... not to mention a better knowledge of the roads.
