Aftermarket Audio Upgrade

Is it possible to put a double din head unit in that interior. I got an 05 coupe now wit the Kenwood DDX-8017 and a full audio system (subs amps speakers...) that i'd wanna rip out and put in the new coupe which has basically the same interior as this sedan so is that possible? Do any of you guys have anything done to the audio system. I hate that they integrate and make everything so difficult

i don't think it's possible w/o fab'ing a new piece as the LCD/nav display is now the radio display. would be interesting to see what people come up with for aftermarket units such as yours.

My guess is that the premium package audio system will meet or beat the vast majority of the aftermarket audio installs out there.

it is pretty good. the frequency response is excellent and the dynamics are impressive. the only thing lacking is imaging. that's where an aftermarket system could really beat the SOW, but you'd need to run kickpanels or time delay.

i have an aftermarket system and it sounds a lot better than stock.. what i did was convert those front 10" subs + vocals + highs (total three speakers).. into 6 1/2 components..

i have MQ Quartz Q216 Front and Rear, running Pheonix Gold Amp and also A 12" sub.. i did run a very good Hi/Lo though.. but the sound is impressive.. too much base coming from speakers in my opinion is not that great especially when you turn it up.. thats why i didnt like the stock system and opted to get Aftermarket.. but otherwise it sounds GREAT!

as for DDIN.. i really want to get one.. but when i yanked out that face.. it is ONE SOLID pc board behind it meaning you cant even CUSTOM it to fit without losing AC controls.. unless you know someone that can do some PC BOARD soldering and also make another board and such.. but i am waiting for a friend of mine in Japan to see if the same car over there has seperate boards.. kind of like the older g35 models.. =)
