Sirius Satellite Radio PLEASE HELP

I recently purchased a 2007 g35x. It has the premium package, but no tech or navigation package. I also have a subscription to sirius satellite radio from my previous truck, along with the equipment (monitor, antenna etc). Im not a big fan of having wires and equipment suction cupped to my windeshield, i really like a clean look. With that said, is it possible to have Sirius installed so it will be displayed on the main screen in the car, and run through the cars computer, and if so about how much do you think it would cost to have it installed at a car audio place? Thanks for the help

It's quite possible. My G35S did not come with any satellite radio service. Our cars are prewired for either xm or sirius. All you need to do is purchase the tuner and antenna and hook it up yourself. This is exactly what I did. I bought the tuner from Grubbs Infiniti. I bought the antenna off ebay. The tuner itself cost 180 from grubbs. The harness to plug into the tuner is in the trunk of the car. If you remove the top liner of the trunk you'll see it. Simply attach the harness to the tuner, mount the tuner and connect the antenna. Viola you have satellite radio. No need to pay a dealer's outrageous fee to install it for you.

+1 on the pics. I am thinking of installing Sirius myself and am looking for how to install the antenna other than the roof mounted option.

I do not have pics. I mounted the tuner on the right side of the trunk. The antenna I mounted on the rear woofer shelf. XM signal is perfect. Can't comment on how sirius reception would be in that area. I used the velcro tape and black play dough like substance to hold the tuner in place. No drilling is required. The tuner comes with velcro and black sticky like substance.

Did you have to drill any holes to pass the antenna through the rear deck? Mounting the unit seems simple enough, routing the antenna is really where my questions pop up.

Antenna placement is even simpler than mounting the tuner. Once you remove the upper linning of the trunk there are various holes that leads to the woofer shelf to mount the antenna on. No drilling.

The starmate pops into the flip up ashtray like it meant to be there.
Fits tight, wires tuck into center console. I love my set up.

Sat Install

Hey Celwin - New to the site. I have a 06 Coupe. Any reason why the install wouldn't work the same way as your X? When you say the pre-wired connection is within the top liner, do you mean the felt-covered liner that surrounds the rear deck speakers? I don't want to start pulling down stuff, if I'm not in the right area. Thanks.

I'm in South Jersey and bought my G from a dealer in North Jersey. They quoted me $599 for purchase and install. I'm glad I found this link before I plunked down that kind of bucks.

These forums are great! Thanks again.

Bud S.

So I ordered the OEM Sirius unit and am in the market for an antenna. Does anyone have any experiences with either of these?

Generic antenna:

Terk antenna:

Any inputs are appreciated.

I'd like to know this too. I have pretty dark tint, I think it's got some aluminum in it maybe. would it be better to install the antenna on the front dashboard? i definitely don't want one on the exterior of my car. thanks in advance...
