non-Bose '07 stereo

Guys,

I'm seem to recall reading that the non-Bose system in the G does not need something like the JL Cleansweep before hooking up to an external amp because the stock HU does not screw up the output and try and equalize the **** out of it like the Bose version of the HU. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks.

I'm thinking of putting a 3-way comp system up front. The stock speakers are 6.5", but the opening is designed for the Bose 10" suckers, so I'm thinking an 8" down low, a 2" or 3" in the door where the tweeter is now and putting tweeters in the "a" pillars. I think with 8's (or maybe 10's) in the doors, I won't even need a sub. Besides, with two kids, I can't really afford to lose the trunk space.

The equipment i ordered was a kicker c8, rockford fosgate p200.2 amp, 4 ga amp wiring kit, Peripheral Ven 2 in line converter, dynamat for the rear deck. it all cost about 250 bucks. I am waiting still for everything to come in. I will post the pics up when i install it and see how it sounds if it was even worth it lol.

Are you going to build a box around the sub, or are you going to use the trunk and an infinite baffle? I can't afford to lose any trunk space with a box, but would love to get some extra "thump" when I upgrade the stereo.

Thanks

I don't have the Bose system, but was wondering, is an 8" sub/opening, and do they run it free air (infinite baffle)? Or was there a small enclosure built around it?

It is being installed by my boy right now, itshould be done either tonight or tom. In our cars we can install a 10inch free air sub in the back instead of a 8 inch. So after i blow my 8 inch i plan on gettin a image dynamics 10 inch idmax sub. That should sound a lot better. But we will see how this sounds. I will post pics soon
