Hey guys,
I partially finished my install of the Garmin GVN-53. I still need to do the video bypass.

One strange thing that I am seeing is that the video displayed is not taking up the full LCD screen. It's in the middle, with boarders on the side, like how you would see on your tv with a 1:1 aspect ratio. I tried playing around with the video settings, but haven't gotten it quite right yet (manual states advance settings are for installers, and doesn't give any info). If I quickly switch from Radio to Aux, the LCD is fully filled for about 2 seconds then reverts back to the screen described above. Anyone see this? What are your video settings?

i think i know what your talking about..

hit the aux button on the on car...
you should see something on the bottom left corner and under it saying setting.
go into that setting and change it from there....
i believe one of them is cinema, one is wide screen, and another should be best fit something like that...

btw if u go into settings, its display mode.

to tell you the truth, i haven't been able to figure that out either.
its still a lil too bright for me, but you get use to it in a day or two.
there is a combination of settings that i changed to get it better,
1. hit the aux button, then hit the settings button, now you will see all different options in the video settings, like blk/white scale, color scale, etc.
2. theres a setting in the gvn, where you see like different lines in different colors... in there i turned that all the way down to 0. its a lil better then b4.

How do you control the GVN? Remote Control only?
