Ipod Connection Cords in 2007 G35

Hello, I am trying to figure out how I want to connect my ipod to the AUX ports. Currently I have a cable that connects to the head phone jack, but that had to much background noise so I bought a cable that connects to the base of the ipod (Nyko Stereo Link for iPod). The only problem with the second is that I cannot move the volume control further than 3 bars in the car before the music is about to rupture my ear drums. I have tried to adjust the settings in the car and on the ipod but not luck. Now I am posting here to see how other people have managed to get the most out of their ipods while in the car.

Thanks

Wowowow, now although I unfortunately can't answer your question, it's INCREDIBLE that you posted this question just a few hrs before me because I was almost gonna post this exact post. I have the typical av connection cable that goes into the headphone jack right now, but like your typical headphones, one side is startin to go dead and i usually have to wiggle the cable n stuff for it to work again. I saw that there are AV composite cables like this one that plug into the base, not the jack:

and wanted to see if they would work for an ipod nano on a 07 g35. Also, I only need audio, NOT VIDEO!!! Hope both our questions get answered!

I'd be hesitant to buy the one Robizzle linked to just because of how thin the cables are. I fear for their ability to hold up, and the shielding must be minimal for a cable of that size.

You can also use these: http://www.monstercable.com/mp3/ipod/cables.asp. that's what I currently have. I want to say I found it at Target or Best Buy!

Great video quality with this and there is no noise at all.

Yeah, you've got three RCA inputs on the bottom of the center console front face.

I don't get it

Call me ignorant, but I don't get it. The inputs in the console allow audio left, audio right, and a composite video.

What was on the link was component video cables. That wouldn't work as there aren't enough video inputs in the console.

Was it this you were referencing?

That's the composite video cable. (Damn, that's the same price!)

Fleabay has cheaper AV composite cables = anyone using them or similar, or should I just go OEM? After overpaying for the i-too-pod, hate paying $50 for a cable instead a non-OEM one which could do as good job and can be had for a lot less.

OK, so the consensus seems to go OEM. Will get it, then.

I use a Belkin cable which charges the iPod at the same time as connecting for music (audio only). Note that it doesn't work for my new iPhone though You may also need to attach a ground loop isolator to cut out noise, Nissan may have fixed that in the '08s though (available from Radio Shack).

You may be getting a lot of volume because the volume is turned up on your iPod? On my cable through the dock port, it includes a volume control - if yours doesn't, perhaps you have to turn it down with the Pod itself?

Also, search - you'll find other threads on this.

I use the Monster FM transmitter. Paid $80 originally; they've dropped in price since then. Great quality and charges your iPod at the same time.
