My new iPhone 4 won't work with the factory iPod Interface on my 08. The car recognizes it and I can go through my songs. But as soon as I try to play one it defaults back to the home screen. Anyone else have issues? My 3G worked just fine (except for not charging).

 

I think the IPOD Interface on our G are getting little ODD (Maybe 2010 G are better)
I have a 2008 too and it won't work well with my girlfriend's touch 3G...Strange

 

I'm seeing the same thing with my 3GS and iOS4. I can browse by album, artist, etc, but can't actually play anything. Returned back to the main menu.

Is this interface something that is EVER updated by Infiniti, or am I just hosed until Apple does something (or I get a new car)?

 

Try turning off auto-lock on the iPhone. Worked for me.

 

I actually dug around on the Apple forums, and there are a ton of similar reports for many different car audio systems. I tried one of the recommendations and it fixed the problem for me. I did a hard reset of the phone. When it finished booting, I plugged it into my iPod interface BEFORE starting the car. After starting the car, everything worked normally.

I've only tried it the one time, not sure if I'll have to plug it in before starting EVERY time, or if that one time did some sort of re-sync. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it.
