Music & Videos with iPhone 4?

Pretty new here and new 07 G35X owner. Tried to find answer before posting. Can someone tell me exactly what type of cables I need to listen to music and watch videos from my iPhone 4. I have A/V cables but the music is not clear and video only has sound, even when I'm in park with break on.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I originally bought a regular old ipod a/v cord from online but it did audio and no video on my iTouch. I did some searching and found this answer: There is a chip that unlocks the output so if you use generic A/V dock cords they wont work. To unlock the video out from iTouch and iPhone you need to buy a licensed Ipod A/V cable from Apple. I just ordered mine off of ebay and it was $20.

Could be a problem with your iPhone4. Try the Genius Bar at the Apple store and have them test it for you.

I am having a similiar issue with my Droid Eris.

So I need a specific cord? I don't plan on modding the car to allow me to watch video while driving, more of a novelty/waiting for the wife and I feel like watching something to pass the time.

There is actually no problem here with the iPhone or cables. What you need to understand is that the new Apple products (including the iphone) will only work with authentic Apple cables. Apple recently released new cables specifically for your new iPhone that costs around $40. I bought this cable and I get flawless audio (better than cd quality) and video. You need to either buy this cable online or visit the Apple store. Another option would be to jailbreak your iPhone and download an app called "Re-supported" from Cydia that allows you to use non-authentic cables.

These are what I use on my iPhone 4 and Nano 5g, or 6g?... the newest one.
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC...co=MTM3NTI2NjQ

Transmits audio crystal clear, and videos beautifully.

No, that cable is meant for HD Tvs. You need to get the Composite cable. Here is the link: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC...co=MjAyNDI1OTU

They are very similar in appearance but the composite only has yellow, red, and white cables.

I just want to confirm this but would this work if I wanted to use the maps app or tomtom navi app from my iPhone 4 to be mirrored onto the screen on the G?
