Blitz R-VIT DS Monitoring System
Blitz R-VIT DS Monitoring System
I recently purchased the Blitz R-Vit Monitoring system, and I wanted to know if needed to perform the video bypass in order for this thing to work while in motion. I also wanted to know how to adjust this unit to read Air/Fuel ratio since our cars supposedly have a built in wideband. Any help would be greatly be appreciated.
Terry can better help u wid this since he has something similar, but my understanding is that u would need to do the bypass to get ur screen to work in motion, then again since blitz is a 3rd party hardware u might not.... hmmmm, hope terryc drops by or u can PM him.
I'll post some soon. I recently figured out the Air Fuel ratio issue, and let me tell this system is nice and definately worth the money! I still wish I could use the blitz while listening to my IPOD! I'm still working on this.
I know the blitz can monitor AFR from the stock widebands/ECU, but the problem is monitoring boost. You can't add a Blitz module and sensor for it, therefore you must add a separate gauge for boost. That's assuming you're going FI, otherwise the Blitz is the best for the money. With the CAMP2, I can monitor boost if I add the module and sensor. As far as AFR, I must either purchase a separate gauge (Might go with an AEM wideband for tuning purposes as well) or with the HKS AFK and Knock Amp (Both of which cost a lot).
I'll probably just add all the extra sensors for the Camp 2 and somehow integrate an AEM wideband into the dash for AFR.

You are absolutely right, boost cannot be read from the Blitz unit. Eventually I will be getting supercharged, and I will not get a boost gauge right away because my boost will be limited by the belt size. If I was going turbo that would be a different story. I haven't used the HKS CAMP system, so I haven't been able to determine which is more user friendly, but I can say that I am happy that I am able to read afr's (my main goal) and bunch of other things.

I would've used the Blitz as well, since the display appears better IMO and the total package comes out a bit cheaper. However, the stock widebands are not very accurate below the 13:1 region, so using them for tuning when I get boosted would be useless. That's kinda why I ended up with the CAMP as I can use an aftermarket wideband mounted in the ashtray or something.
I need to do something about the display though and see what I can do as far as music goes. I'll PM you when I figure it out.

I believe Modme in myg37 tapped directly into the LCD instead of using the AUX inputs to display his carPC. He even went as far as integrating a touchscreen overlay for his carPC.
Q8y Drifter,
are you able to confirm that the stock widebands are not accurate under 13:1? I know this has been debated before between Shariff and Sam. Shariff said they are not accurate at certain levels and Sam said otherwise. I would put my money on Sam's opinion!

They're actually both kinda right. Sharif said they start to lose accuracy below 13:1 and get worse as the AFR gets richer. Which is true, however, when tuning an N/A G, the richest it will be at open loop is around 12.7:1 and that's mostly seen on a VHR. My HR sedan is tuned at 13.1:1 which is where it made the most power.
You don't need the accuracy of an aftermarket wideband when tuning an N/A as the room for error is greater compared to FI, not to mention with N/A you don't go THAT much below 13:1 anyway.
My opinion is, if you're going FI you should invest in a good wideband for tuning, otherwise if you're staying N/A, I don't see the point. I'm going to get a GTM SC and so I'll probably go with an AEM Uego.
