2007 vs. 2008 G35 iPod Integration
Hi All,
I purchased a 2007 G35 a few months ago and it's in the shop for the first time to repair several small warranty items. Due to a bluetooth issue, one of the items being replaced is the radio. I know the 2008 G35s added the iPod integration feature which I am very envious of. I'm wondering if I might get lucky and end up with a 2008 radio as a result of this repair. Is that one piece of equipment the missing link for iPod integration? If so, is there a port on the back where I could plug in the Infiniti iPod cable?
Thanks for any responses.

welcome to the forum!
first things first, the members here will tell you to do a search because there is a ton of info on this on the board here.
so now for the bad news, there is no place on the back of the 2008 radio to just "plug in" the infiniti ipod cable. if you don't have the ipod package in the car to begin with then you'll have to go with another route such as the iSimple or USAspec adapter, etc. or you could just go cheap and plug the ipod into the audio jack in your armrest.
let us know if we can help!
Cheers!

according to the website the iSimple is just an FM transmitter? Thats garbage....what I want is factory integration or the next best thing where I can have a mount and just plug in my iPod/iPhone and start listening to music controlled from the screen. What is needed for that?
iSimple is not an FM transmitter, i think you're misreading it. i do, however, think that the USAspec sounds better than the iSimple but i had an older iSimple so maybe they're better now.
the iSimple plugs into the back of the head unit, the USAspec plugs into the satellite receiver in the trunk.
there are several threads about stock iPod integration here on the forum, i recommend searching them out since one or two of them have installation photos. as far as prices, i think the kits are available at http://www.g35parts.com/
cheers!

I installed the USA Spec PA15-INFI adapter. Fairly simple. I plugged into the SAT connector in the trunk, ran the excess wires under my back seat, ran the cable up through my glove box and wah-lah, complete. Works great. Make sure to get a good ground otherwise your iPhone will not charge. I need to run a little more wire through the glove box. I kept it pretty short and now it is a pain to switch my pandora while driving.
