beltronics mute button

I have had my bel 995 detector in my car since the day I got my car. I went strait from the dealer to the tint shop, then from there home to put in my detector. I initially had it suction cupped under the mirror with my home made invisicord. Then, when It got cold out and started to fall off, I got a mikes mount. It works and looks great now. But, its so close to the mirror that I cant get to the mute button when I want to no hear that there is a bank in front of me (x). I had the original cord, and didn't want to throw 30 bucks away on a (hardwire kit) That is the same thing that comes with it. so, here is what I came up with, I was going to still take power from the invisicord for the detector it self but then realized that that was pointless because the mute board needs power for the leds. So, Im just going to tap into a fuse and run all four wires up to the top and go through the mirror stem (should look even cleaner than before).

Here is what the cut looks like (blank switch panel), I put heat shrink around the leds to prevent them from bleeding into each other
