I look throughout the forums and was unable of finding the answers to my questions, so here they are.

I am very interested in finding other people that have experience upgrading sound on 08 G35 Sedans.

I have a 2007-08 G35S Sedan with Bose system 10 speakers. I do not like the Bose sound as it tends to be too flat.

I am looking of improving quality, I want to hear voices, mids and highs better and for this goal, I am planing on the following:

Leaving head unit as is
Front Speakers FOCAL IS 165
Amp: Alpine MRP-F300 (4 channels)
Sub: Rockford Fosgate R1L-1X12 enclosure wit R1S412 (sill haven't bought it)

Amp will push the components FOCAL and 2 channels bridged to the Subwoofer.

Questions I have o far:

1. Does anyone have feedback on these speakers (I used to have Infinity Kappa and I LOVED THEM, I expect FOCAL to be of better quality)

2. Should I replace rear speakers as well or will they just not add any value?

3. Do I need an EQ?

I know more questions will come up soon.

Focal's are good, not best bang-for-buck, but they're worlds better than bose.

Don't use the rear speakers with those.

With a two-speaker + sub setup, I wouldn't spend money on an EQ. Put the money into better sound deadening materials instead.

 

I was thinking of it. Some dynamat or something similar.

Do not know where the original amps are located. Does anyone know?

Should I keep original wiring or replace it with a better quality one?

Does anyone have the wiring diagram ?

I was always very impressed with how focals sounded. I don't think you can go wrong, but they are definitely pricey. I agree with wrathernaut, unless you really have money to burn or constantly have people in the backseat complaining about the sound i'd forget the rear speakers. In reality the soundstage for the driver is up in the front of the car.

Per the shop manual the Bose amp is in the trunk, mounted underneath the parcel shelf on the driver's side. Not sure about the speaker size but i'll see if anything turns up in the shop manual.

 

I actually just upgraded my bose factory system recently!

sizes i used were 1 inch tweets, 3.5 inch mid range, and the door woofer is 10 inches.

if you want to change the 10 inch for a 6.5, you need to buy the non Bose door adapter baffle from infiniti, and i would highly highly recommend the mdf door speaker adapters from www.zenclosures.com

The stock amp is on the bottom of the rear deck on the left side, i believe it says bose on it.

Definitely upgrade the wiring, I used 0 gauge for mine and it tucks in the panels perfectly. Use at least some nice OFC 4 gauge, some nice knuconceptz RCA wires, 16 gauge OFC speaker wire, and if your sub can accept it, 8 gauge wire (if not, i sometimes use OFC 16 gauge not split though, twist the two wires together to "up the gauge")

1. I agree the focal is not the best bang for the buck. Try some JBL Ms-62C, they're around your focal choice price and to me sound just as good as speakers twice as expensive, and much better than the focals IMO.
2. for the most part, you do not really need to change out the rear speakers since they are there for just rear fill for your backseat passengers.
3. I don't think an EQ is necessary, but you will need an audiocontrol LC6i to convert the speaker level inputs to an RCA output.

 

how exactly did you hook up the lc6i. As far as tweeters and mid connections
