But my original question still stands. Are there asymmetrical tires that are also directional? You mentioned on exotics. Are there any mass manufactured performance tires that are directional and asymmetric?
I answered your question even before you asked. See a few posts down from the top of page 2.

Thank God I blew past all of these asymmetrical/directional/tire rotation concerns when I switched to FX35 20x8 factory wheels mounted four Nitto 555's of the same size.

So even if the tires are directional I can still rotate between the front and back as long as I keep them on the same side. Yee Haw!

So i went to hoffmans here in upstate new york to get an oil change the other day. I was outside talking on my cell phone and the guy came up to me and told me he thinks i should rotate my tires and everything else is fine. I said ok because i figured the guy their who deals with cars all day knows more than me about rotating tires, so i let him. Now i read that your not suppose to rotate the tires. I have driven about 400 miles like this and cant notice a difference. I have the S and am worried this may cause my tires to wear funny. Should i go back their and complain and demand free oil changes or should i just not worry about it?? Thank you

I don't know a lot about the S but given the stuff I had read here on this forum I think you better go get them switched back.

Service light came on at 7500 indicating I had to (all most hate to say it), but rotate my tires. I too was a little confused about what to do until reading more and talking with the service guy. Side to side is what the "S" calls for with the OEM tires.

Not like it really matters, these tires only last around 10-15k miles anyways. Even if you did do the one rotation, your not going to really gonna get any extra mileage out of it. Just my .02 cents

I will be changing to the new Goodyear F-1 All Season when the originals wear out . Does anyone know if you can put the 245/45/18 in the front also without a problem?

What do G35x (AWD) owners do if they have to mount the spare? (On my Outback I have to pull a fuse to disable the all wheel drive feature and if the rear tire is the one with the problem, I have to put the front on the rear and the spare on the front.)

there is no point in rotating the tires on our car (S model). if you just switch the right and left rear tires, what good will that do? it should wear the same unless all you do is turn left, but if you were to rotate them (not in the traditional X pattern but in a side to side pattern) there ill be no advantage

i would like to see some tires gthat wont cost me a grand to replace, and please dont tell me if i cant afford it ... bs

i can afford it but would rather not spend it

i think i will get my company to pay for them ... my car cost as much as my apt ... i would rather sleep in it anyways so time to cancel my lease ...

Switching over to 225/45/18 front and 245/45/18 rears will open up alot more tire choices and work fine w/ the 07-08 Gs w/ sport staggered wheels

how's the ride if switching the front from 225/50/18 to 225/45/18?
not too much difference?
i'm thinking to get a set of Yokohama AVID W4S 225/45/18 for the front and 245/45/18 for the rear...
any thoughts?

the ride won't change much with the Kumho SPTs, they're sidewall isn't too stiff and still rides pretty good. Tire brand selection will dictate overall ride
