Cool 2007 G35 Sport Replacement Tires??

Anyone replace the OEM Bridgestone RE050 tires with the Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Seasons? My Bridgestones have about 22,000 miles on them and are pretty much worn out. Since G35 Sport owners don't have a lot of choices - i.e. especially with the different tire sizes in the front and rear - I was hoping to get some objective feedback.

Also, does Falken have a matching set of tires for the 2007 G35 Sport? Can you put 245/45-18's on the front as well (instead of the 225/50-18's)?

Any information would be helpful, as I will probably be buying new tires within the next month or so.

Regards,

I had 245 45 18 on my "sport" rims (2005), 7.5" rim width, with no problems. If you have 19 on the back, you could run 255 40 19 on the back with 245 45 18 on the fronts.

Here is a tire/wheel calculator that will help you figure it out.

I was going to ask the same question in a month or so, before I take my winter tires off. I am looking at the F1 all seasons, the higher treadwear is a big reason. My stock tires lasted 15k mi/8 months, dropping $1k a year on tires is something I'd rather not do.

I am considering 235/50s on the front and 255/45s on the back since these tires are optimum for the stock rim width. The 1/4 in. increase in tire diameter is negligible and will match the dia. of a new stock tire with a little wear. I don't know why Infiniti selected tires that are intended for rims 1/2 in. narrower than the stock rims. I am curious as to whether the slight increase in tread width will help compensate for the overall decrease in performance of a dedicated summer tire.

If you get the F1 all seasons please share your thoughts on their performance. I imagine there are other G owners with this question.

I'm not sure what you're saying here. A dedicated summer performance tire is LESS performant !?!?!

I just hade the Goodyear all-season F1's installed 245/45 18 (R) 225/50 18 (F) - Love em! Much better then the OEM Bridgestone’s. Road noise is just slightly higher, but the over all ride/grip has improved dramatically.

That's an interesting comment. I've read a number of professional drivers reviews of the various bridgestone RE050 tires, and the general comments have been very very good in terms of the RE050/A(pole position or not) many considering them to be one of the top commercially available performance tires. It seems odd that the all season F1s would be better than your RE050As. The primary complaint about the RE050As has been treadwear, which is a given for performance tires. I've never expected more than 15K or so on most of the performance tires I've used .

I guess I was not clear, I meant that a/s tires do not generally perform as well as summer tires in warm, dry weather.

Last time, I bought Goodyear RS-A all season tires and they were the bomb! I got them on just before Raging Bull run two years ago. It rained the first morning and it didn't slow me down one bit. I loved them. Got almost 30K out of them.

I bought the Goodyears about 2 months back. So far I am happy with them. The cold/wet grip is very good. Of course, the potenzas are better in dry and hot conditions but these tires are not bad at all. I would highly recommend these tires.

I just love the Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons I bought last Spring, seem like a great performing tire. I'm running 245/45/18 all round.

Have had the Goodyear F1s 225/50/18 front and 245/45/18 rear since first week of November and have been pleasantly surprised. Tires are excellent in cold and rain, better in the rain than the summer Potenzas, handle almost as well as the OEM Potenzas in dry. F1s showed a bit of chatter on certain tight quick S moves that the Potenzas would have handled without a blip.

I find road noise with the F1s actually less than Potenzas on certain surfaces, about the same on other surfaces.

Hope to get away with the F1s through the winter here in Brooklyn.

Regards,
Has anyone tried out the Falkens? I was at NTB trying to figure out which new tires to buy and he suggested I look at those. I am not wanting to drop a lot of money. A minor difference in preformance does not matter with me. I am looking at the best tire for the value. Within the 9 months of my car I have already worn out my Bridgestones.

I would once again suggest the Cooper Zeons, 130 a piece...I love em.
All seasons though, so you may lose a little stickyness come the summer.
I guess we will see in July...
Mavis tire is a retailer for those.
