245 45 R18 all around on 07 G35 Sedan Sport Rims?

I am getting ready to replace the tires on our sedan. I am thinking about going with the General Exclaim UHP 245-45-18 all around. I have heard they have great grip and are affordable. I would love to go Potenza RE-01R in the same, but that is some big money for tires that have a tread wear of 140.

What are the implications of putting 245-45-18 on all four corners on the G35-S Sedan? Is it correct to assume that I still would not be able to rotate the tires since the rims sizes are different from front to back?

Thanks,

I believe that would be too wide for the front rims, as they are only 7.5

tire specs on the exclaims say they will work with rims from 7.5" - 9.0" at 245-45-18

I run 245/45/18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S all around and love them. I am on 8.5" rims front and back though.

Thanks GEE35X. That is why I am asking to question. I am wondering if anyone has done it with the G35-S stock rims which are 7.5 x 18" Front and 8.5 x 18" rear.

Your handling might be worse just because you will have more sidewall curvature with a wider tire on the narrower rim on the front of the car. It might look a little odd as well.

i run 245/45 snows all the way around, it works, it fits.
the fronts will look a little bulged out compared to the back.
I like this look, looks a little more sportier. ALSO it will give u a little more of a "bumper" if u hit a curb, less chance of curb rash because the tire sticks out about 1/2 inch further then the rim. As g35_6gear said, ur handling goes down "slightly" because the side walls are curved a little and not as "stiff", i barely notice it when i jerk the wheel back and forth, but other then that they feel really good.

I am gunna run 245/45 in the front and 265/40 in the rear for summer tires.

if you want pics of the little "bulge" effect. let me know with a pm.

I am selling my 2 front Potenza 225/50/18's if any one is interested.
they have 200 miles on them so they are practically new.

Why don't you wanna run the staggered set? 225/50 and 245/45?

I am not opposed to a staggered setup, but the availability of tires other than the oem Potenza 050 seems limited in the stock sizes.

this is true. the front size is a lil weird., then again u could get another set of 8.5s and run 8.5s on all 4 and solve this problem. it would be like GEE35X's setup.

getting rid of ur old rims might be a problem, and new ones are not cheep. but there are a lot of people "upgrading" there rims to after market ones and have the stock ones kicking around.

pics of 245/24 all the way around

here is the pics.
it was hard to get good ones so i tried to use a straight edge to see the bulge better.
there is only about half an inch difference but i can notice it when i walk up to the car
the tires are Hankook icebear w300's, and they are amazing in the snow

front

Rear
