What are you all running for tire pressure in your lower profile tires.

The recomended tire pressure is 33psi. You can find if on the driver side when you open the door. Look at the sticker on the frame. Anything over 35psi is high for stock tires.
Higher pressure = easier to slip/spin the tires, less braking efficiency.
Lower pressure = bad for gas mileage, bad for tread wear.

That is true, however that recommendation is for the stock tires. Different tires may or may not have the same specs but I imagine it would depend on the tires, conditions etc, but I just wanted to check if the lower profiles had different recommendations than the stockers. I'll probably bump try to keep them right around 32.

im running 50 psi on the OEM potenzas, i like to slide the *** end around a little, and harder tires help that. also i have notices about a 4 mph average increase.

they have been at 50 pis for 15k and no problems or abnormal treat wear.

38-40 on 18" stock Potenzas, have 21k on them now and still have relatively safe tread depth.

exactly why i asked the question. seems there's definite opinions on how to setup the lower profile tires. the max pressure on my Kumhos is 50psi, but that doesn't mean it's the 'recommended' psi. I'm probably going to air mine up to 36 and keep them in that range. i was getting just a tad bit of push in the corners last time i played around with the car pretty hard. i'm going to take it out to the speedway's road course soon and i'll play around more with the pressures then.

nope dead serious. i have always run the max PSI that is on the sidewall of the tires for every car i have ever own. (measured when cold)

never had center wear, or edge wear.
never blew out a tire from hitting a pot hole/curb (and i have hit some nasty pot holes in Lowell MA, also 1/2 of down town is all cobble stones)
never cracked/bent a rim.
never had a set of tires wear out too quickly

every one thinks/says that u will blow out a tire if u hit a pothole when ur inflated near the max. and every time i ask people, do you know any one that has had that happen, they all say no...
