I have the staggered tires on my G and as you all know there are NO (about three options) options for the 225/50's so i was thinking if I get all:

245/45/18s

How would it work???

I know some people have done something similar, but the fronts are killing me, and i need to get some tires soon.....

I was thinking of getting:

Toyo Proxes 4.

Thanks

There's another thread where someone asked the EXACT same question - you should search for it. IIRC, the answer was that the fronts at 245 would seriously bulge.

235/50/18 works great on the front, and the bulge seems about the same.

I like them a lot thx - the traction in the wet is ridiculously good, and dry traction is also They aren't quite as smooth as Michelins, it's my first experience with Goodyears and they take a bit more balancing. That said, I'm pleased.

Re noise, they're about as loud as the stock tires, noticeable but not bad.

I went through the same process. My solution was to buy a set or 18"x8" G37 wheels; to which I will mount (4)245/45R18 Falken ZE-912 tires. I also had planned to buy the Proxes 4 but found a review in Consumer Reports on Hi-Po tires; the Falkens were rated higher and are cheaper. Of particular concern to me was a comment that the Proxes were very noisy.

I wish i could afford a set of new wheels... but for me, it is tires only... i guess i should just replace the rear tires for now... but i want to front tires to match, so i might just go f1's.

I am very **** about this, i had a BAD accident because of my rear tires being bald....

Not that i am down to wear bar, but almost there...

I got tired of trying to track down the right size front in a winter tire, so I run the 245-45 M/S on all 4 corners. Summer gets the 225-55 up front. I didn't have any problems.
