Goodyear F1 all-season

OK, why so much disparity between the reviews on TireRack and Discount Tire. Many on TR complain about excessive road noise (I think it was above 7K miles driven), but you don't hear the same complaints repeatedly on the Discount Tire reviews.

What is the concesus from owners of this tire, who have driven on them for awhile? Please state how long on F1s in your comments. Thanks in advance.

there wear out as quickly as the stock tires with the car. HOWEVER they handle SOOOOO much better and don't screech as much in turns... PS2's are the way to go, but they don't make the size for our rimes (have to go after market before I get my favorite PS2s back

Tires....make the right choice!

I ran Goodyear tires on my Z for years and had major issues with the inside
sidewalls leaking. Nothing like hearing air escaping from your tires when you
pull into an event and they did little to resolve the issue. That's when I
switched to Michelin Sports and will be returning to them next summer....
love those tires, no noise and they wear good....expect 30K miles.

If you drive in the snow, they're ok.

If you don't, there are much better options for the $$.

That could be why the reviews are all over the board. Also, there are many different goodyear eagle F1 tires, so people could be confused as to which one they're reviewing.

Usually a "mixed review" is a bad thing.

ive had F1 all season for only 2k miles but i really dont like them. vague on center feel, car feels floaty in corners and they are noisy. i know its because of the all season difference from the summer only dunlops. under hard accel traction control kicks in, even in 3rd gear on a highway on ramp. alot of tread block deflection because they are smaller. im sure after a few 32nds wear off, ill get a little better handling out of them. i bought them because i got 14k miles out of the dunlops and am hoping for better life out of these also the rears arent stretched as much as the dunlops

My car had F1 all seasons on it when I purchased it, so I'm not sure how many miles are on them. In my opinion, they are very quiet, have great handling, and good traction. There you go, my opinion. Would I buy them again? Yes.

I have about 800 miles on my F1 A/S's. They are not noisy for me. In comparison to the stock Bridgestones they are about equal in noise, but that's in comparison to the Bridgestones with 20k miles on them. As far as handling is concerned there is no comparison. The F1's feel "squirmy" around the corners. The Bridgestones provided alot more road feel and control. The F1's handle much better than the Bridgestones in 40's degree weather which is the point when the Bridgestones start to become a little slippery. The F1's are better in the rain. The F1's sidewalls feel a little stiffer and thus the ride is a little stiff as well.

OK, so now I'm also looking at the Bridgestone RE960AS. They only come in 225/45ZR18 whereas stock size is 225/50-18. Is this ok or will it cause some issues?

I have had the F1 All Seasons for 4 months and approx. 2.5K miles. My opinions:

1) Handling not as sharp as the OE Bridgestones (this was anticipated as the Goodyear's are All Season).

2) Ride is a little better.

3) Though not a performance tire, grip is very good.

4) Huge improvement in wet traction and wet driving vs. Bridgestones.

5) Thus far, very quiet. Note: I thought the OE Bridgestones were also very quiet.

6) I'm not positive, bt it seems like the F1s have at least a 40K mile warranty (need to double check my paperwork).

I spent a lot of time researching tires before purchasing the F1 All Seasons and have thus far been very pleased.

My F1's just came into today. I'll let you know what my first impressions are tomorrow.

Btw, anyone know how much shops usually charge to mount and balance tires?

I have 10,000mi on my F1's
Over all a good tire - but the road noise is defining! It wasn’t so bad when I first purchased them, but after 7,000mi ughhhh brutal!

Got mine on today. First impressions:

1. Alot bumpier. You feel speed bumps and such much more.

2. Very nice grip, especially for an all season tire.

Hopefully they will last much longer than the stock Potenzas.

Ran Goodyear F1s all last winter in NYC. For an all season they are very good. Dry traction was better than I expected. Yes, more squirmy than the summer Potenzas, but excellent in wet and handled light snow without a hitch
