hello, looking to get some summer wheels and tires for my 08 xS. not going to be lowering it just new wheels and tires. how do you know what size wheels and tires will fit and what is offset all about?

any suggestions on sizes of tires and wheels thta you all have used on the X would be great. Tirerack says 19*8 or 8.5 with 245/40/19

I'm running 19x8.5 with 245-40-19 rubber... and no drop, unfortunately.
It offers an outside diamater that's almost exact to OEM so the speedo wont change and it's a pretty good look on the X.
I'm happy with it.

 

I will also be running 19/8.5 all around w/ tires the same tire size as Aeson: 245/40/19's.
Since it appears that you have been on Tirerack, they also do offer an explanation of what wheel offsets are.
