Brake light on while accelerating?

So for some reason when I accelerate the red BRAKE light goes on in my car - the slip light won't though and there is absolutely no slippage when this happens.

It's turning on pretty consistently now whenever I accelerate - mostly a hard accelerate but it has happened sometimes when I would only apply maybe 50% or so of the gas (even less sometimes). I can't pinpoint the cause of the issue because the Brake light is turning more and more consistently as the more I keep driving the car but I don't feel any braking to any of the wheels when this happen - I just continue to accelerate.

The light goes away maybe a second or two after the RPMs have settled. The only aftermarket mod I have in my car is the K&N short ram intake. I've had the intake in for about 4-5 months and the mileage on the intake is nearing 7k I believe. I haven't re-oiled the filter cones yet (heard that has to be done every 20k) and this brake light issue was never an issue up until a few weeks ago and its been pretty consistent ever since.

Any ideas?

You mean the emergency brake light on the dash? Check the brake fluid level.

Do a search for this in the tech section... lots of threads on this.
Even if the fluid looks full, add just a tad to top it off. As your pads wear and the calipers come further out, the fluid drops to a point where acceleration or cornering fires off the low fluid warning.

Low brake fluid. Check your fluid level and see what's left on your pads.

if the brake fluid is low and your pads need to be replaced, replace the pads first. if you top off the brake fluid, then replace the pads, you will overflow the brake reservoir when you push in the pistons on the calipers.

Absolutely, good point, that was said in another post, definitely check your pads first.

I had this problem. They had to replace the parking brake switch to fix it.

Update: guess what, replacing the parking brake switch didn't work. After some spirited driving on the way home from work, it's doing it again. The dealer had my car from Tues-Fri and they couldn't figure out what to do other than replace the parking brake switch. I just had my 30k service and I have over 50% of my brake pads left. How is it that they don't know about topping off the brake fluid? Has anyone had the experience that their dealers seem clueless about this problem? I'm going in Monday and insisting that they top off the fluid to see if it solves the problem.
