Hotchkis sway users, check your bushings
Hotchkis sway users, check your bushings
I noticed about 500 miles or so ago that the front of my car was making a strange noise. Whenever my car went over speedbumps (straight, both wheels on the bump at the same time), I noticed a "squishy" sounding noise from the front. I figured it was the bushings needing grease, but I decided to wait until I had to change oil and do it all at once.
So I dropped the sway bars and removed the bushing, and found that both sides were pretty much dry. There was a little bit of the original grease still there, but for the most part all the grease was dry/gone. I was sort of surprised, as the bars have only been installed for about 6k miles or so, and I figured the grease would have lasted longer than it did (maybe it's my climate).
So, I'd say check your bushing grease every 5-6k miles or so, just to avoid having the bushing run totally dry.
That is all
