Decision time for Springs!

I am getting the idea that I will be waiting a long time for coilovers or AWD specific springs to be available for the G37x sedan. Therefore, I have decided to go with one of the following two choices:
1 - Eibach G37 Sedan Part # 6390.140

2 - Eibach G37x Coupe Part # 6394.140

I am open to opinions on which set would be better suited for me. The G37x coupe springs lower that car by 1.9F and 1.6R. The G37 sedan springs lower that car by 1.5F and 1.2R. I have no idea how these numbers would translate for my G37x sedan. Any insights?

I am thinking that I would prefer the larger drop as the G37x has a huge SUV type wheel gap to deal with.

Any suggestions are welcomed:)

Depending on where you live, I am assuming somewhere in the snowbelt due to you buying an X, I would go for a slightly more conservative drop ie the Eibach springs for the G37 sedan. You never know when that extra 0.4 inches will come into play and help you clear snow.

I also think that the spring rates are different so maybe putting the coupe springs on maybe a liability issue? Perhaps you can try asking this question on myG37 and see what responses you might get.

personally, i'd go with the sedan springs over the coupe.

I'm using the sedan eibachs on my X, works great, looks great, no droopy butt.

Sedan springs for sure. Just ordered the Eibachs just now. As G35xQX1 said.. the spring rates are different so putting on coupe springs can be a liability issue.

How much wheel gap do you have left? Also, do the sedan springs lower the AWD model the same amount as they lower the non-AWD model?

I know this isn't a very big deal to most, as this is a very common drop, but for those of you who know me.... this is big.

Feast your eyes on the before... after is soon to come! :D:D:D

Wow Scott, the front wheel gap on your car puts SUVs to shame. hahaha
Glad you got the Eibachs finally, congrats.
Now convince Wes to get them too by posting pics ASAP. lol

AesonVirus Aug 26, 2009 07:27 PM

I don't think Wes needs much convincing. When he gets back from Mexico, he plans on throwing on 20's.
20's on his car without a drop......

Beautiful. Makes me wish I did less driving in NYC, where I tend to bottom out even without a drop :( Bigger set of wheels and Eibachs would have moved me from bone stock to real mod territory...

Triton3.5 Aug 26, 2009 07:46 PM

Ya Scott that first pic is like "wow" but i def. like your wheels,, sort of masks the prob. slightly,,, I just installed mine last week,, took some pics,, but didn't like the angles, and car was dirty,,, Be advised,, i need rear camber arms for mine,, i am - 2* allthough the car corners fabulously!!!

dannyhuangster Aug 26, 2009 07:47 PM

Aeson, how much wheel gap do you get with a eibach drop?
