I've been desperately trying to find durable aftermarket 19" wheels that I can run all year round without worrying about damaging them in the winter.

Does the type of finish used for OEM wheels give better protection against winter salt/sand? If so, is this type of finish offered aftermarket?

Is there a particular brand that makes more durable year-round wheels?

Obviously chrome is out (this was out anyway), and deep polished lips are out, but aside from the obvious what should I be looking for?

I'm willing to spend a little bit more if I know that this particular wheel will give me as much protection against winter elements as OEM.

 

Sport OEM wheels (such as 350Z and G35 Sport) are made by Rays.
Non-sport wheels (such as 08 G35) are made by Enkei.

Both have a durable finish, so if you're looking for aftermarket then they will probably use the same finish on their wheels.
