Akebono front calipers

Can the four piston front calipers be used for the rears so you have four pistons all around? Sorry, don't know if this can be done. The rears look tiny.

Somebody can indeed fabricate a bracket but you will need bigger rotors and probably is ain't worth it because bigger stopping power is needed mainly on the front of the car

Most cars have roughly an 80/20 front/rear bias, so IMO it would be unnecessary.

Thanks for all the replies, but to clarify it was mostly for cosmetic reasons.

I think it would stop abnormally due to the front/rear bias don't you think?

@ elayman Not sure. So if I put 6 piston calipers up front I would have to get 1.5 piston calipers on the back?

I think the sizes of rotors factor into the bias so you can possibly run 6piston all around just have tiny rotors in the rear. Not sure if the 6pistons can fit on a small rotor though

I think you would have serious issues...if you don't intend on driving the car you will be fine. you will probably have vdc problems and your car will handle like crap.

brake bias is calculated using force..the size of the rotors is primarily for heat dispersion i think

ah good call.. yah then i doubt you can run 6 piston all around without having some weird braking going on

If you have the same set up you would need to adjust the brake bias or when you brake your car would be very unpredictable...

the brake bias takes into consideration weight transfer from rear to front while braking you have greater traction in the front so greater braking force can be applied before the wheels lose grip.

so if you have the equal force on the front and rear while braking the rear will get really loose kinda like pulling the e-brake every time you stop.

so your car will look great..but will be unsafe to drive.

They sell them, but I think they would still need bias adjusted.

That's one of the big pluses of the Akeb setup; it works without bias revision.

Other things to take into consideration.

- Piston size
- Pad choice

Each can affect the bias.
