Finally got these installed- love 'em! Used the shims that came with the Hawk pads. Bedded them in the first day, ran another bed-in the next day. One thing I noticed when I first installed them was that when I turned the front wheels by hand, I got a slight scrape/drag from the pads. This didn't surprise me as the outer edge of the pads (with the guide pin holes) kept back/retracted, but the inner (closest to the hub) edge "hung" inwards toward the rotors, and I had to spread those inner edges by hand to clear the rotors (the pistons were of course fully retracted). Still had the drag after the first bed-in (can hear it driving at slow speeds, windows down, next to a wall/fence to get the echo), and after the second bed-in as well. Anyone else experience this?

So those with the Akebono. Are there any 18" wheels that fits over the brakes? I wanted to get these, but I'm concerned about winter. No way I want to run 19" wheels during winter months. And since 17 is out of the question, 18 would be my only options.

From: Inside my G
texasmax, i can't say that i've experienced the noise after bed-in. There was a slight scraping noise right after install but went away in a few miles. It didn't exhibit itself either after i had to switch the rotors L-R.

celwin, there are many 18's that fit over the Akebono's. Looking at some winter set-ups from fellow G37s coupe owners, those that fit are:

Tirerack.com stuff:
Sport Edition F10's
Sport Edition A7 (A G37 coupe 19" look-alike)
TR Motorsport C2 (lightweight and affordable!)
ASA GT2

Discount Tire Direct stuff:
MB Wheels Weapon
MB Wheels Drifter

Additionally, the rear G35S (sedan) 18's will fit on the front with a minimal spacer.

Hi guys, I am thinking about getting the upgrades. Where can I get 5mm spacer? I first have to get a pair of rear stock rims (G35 sedan S) then go from there.
