rubber flap in front of rear wheels

I notice there is a small rubber flap like thing in front the rear wheels on the G35S. Anyone know what the purpose of those are? Always notice it when walking to the car.

Someone posted about this before and I think it was to reduce wind noise but I'm not too sure.

I thought it was to divert air towards the brakes for cooling purposes.
