First, what type of coils are they? maybe that can help people answer your question

Second, i know there are certain coils for our cars that are true rear coilovers and get rid of the rear spring/perch/location all together.

I could be wrong but im like 95% sure you remove the stock rear spring after installing the rear coilover.

p.s.- from the tiny picture i can hardly make out, are these "k-sports"?

Yes, you remove the rear spring (all old components).

im not sure about in the world of g35's but in the world of 240's k-sports are not rated as being too good of a coilover. obviously they are cheap, just a lot of people whove used them have switched to stance, BC, PBM which are all in the 900-1100 price range and are happier.

by no means am i trying to make you regret your purchase, idk much about these coils, just what i hear. but since u said it was bouncy i thought id chime in

Oh yeah the k sports were actually 800 dollars shipped to hawaii tbh I always use k sports because they're cheap and last for ever (well for as long as I keep my cars) and they are my trustworthy slam your car coil overs but I do hear really good things about those other coil overs

I think this is my biggest issue with changing my factory suspension. My sport is already kinda rough. I want some coilovers but want to keep as much of the stock sedan comfort as possible. Decisions....

i assure you that if you want to keep sport sedan ride quality that coilovers can deliver. adjustable dempening will be your best friend.

Are they adjustable? Try changing the damper settings close to soft.

My first week with the BC's were harsh and bouncy (dampers just rebound immediately instead of softening the blow). However, things settled after a couple hundred miles, and after adjusting the struts, it now rides almost as nice as the OEM sport set-up but with better shock absorption and rebound.

Which brand would be my best choice? I'd rather not drop 2 grand on a set though.
