Question TPMS deactivated?

So about 30 mins ago i just finished changing my tires to winter set on my 07 G35S auto, and i took it out for a drive just to see how the new tires are. i was expecting after a few kms and a bit of speed the tire pressure light would come on, but it just never did. I actually drove the car for about 30kms and hit 170km/h, but still nothing happened. I bought this car this summer so i don't know what the original owner did with it. Does anyone here have ideas of why this is.

Why would TPMS come on upon changing tires? It wouldn't come on unless your tire pressure was low

It's not a tire change on the same rim. My winter tire set is with a new set of rims and tpms sensors on it.

I actually did this same thing, and I started thinking... my car does not have TPMS...

I switched wheel sets... no light nothing for like 2 days...

Then .... TPMS Light came on...

Just give it some time.... It will turn on eventually

oh wow, i didn't even know that was possible, according to the owners manual the sensors should be activated as soon as you hit 20km/h. Still thanks

Yep, I put new wheels w/out sensors in them and it took a couple days before the TPMS light came on. Once it does initially come on it'll start flashing and then light solid right away every time you drive it.

^ if the winter tires dont have your original OEM tpms that were synced with your car then the light should have gone off for sure depending on how much you have driven in the past 6 days/

No my winter tires don't have OEM TPMS on them...but its been now 8 days and the light on the dash still hasn't come on...I drive about 15km a day.
Last year when I put them on the light came on that same day.

It usually takes any where from 100-150 miles before the light comes on. Or you can take it to Infinity or a tire shop that can reprogram your new TPMS for you.

+1, you have to drive continuously for a while. for me, its 26-28 miles though.

Im getting ready to change over to my winter set up for the first time. I would prefer to save money and not buy another set of tire pressure sensors. If I run no sensors through the winter, will this cause any damage to the tire pressure system?
