Lowering an 2007 G35x

Hello, I'm new to the board. I sold my Maxima about four months ago and decided to get an Infiniti g35x because of all the snow we get in the midwest.

I've looked all over the forums and have yet to find a definitive answer to a safe, legit lowering kit for my G35x... I'm seeing a lot of people lower theirs with the Eibach or HR springs but no aftermarket shocks/struts??? Some people are adding the rear camber kit on it and some aren't.

With the winters around here I'm not looking to lower it very much, I would just like to even the stance so it doesn't look like the front is propped up! Are the shocks/struts on these vehicle's strong enough for a Eibach or HR lowering spring? Will the stock shocks/struts wear out prematurely at all?

I would like a legit answer and not the typical "just lower it, who cares" type response, thanks!!

This is what is stopping me from dropping my x on springs.. I would love to go with coils but at their price, its just not in the cards rite now.. allot of people say it will wear out the struts and shocks which worries me and also the fact that it gives the car a more bouncy feel which is the opposite of what im looking for.. I would rather have more wheel gap than something that looks nice but ends up costing me down the line and does not perform..

I know how you feel... I'm not sure if I could spend the money on coils to only have the car dropped an inch.

Out of curiosity, what would the best/cheapest coils be for someone with an X that would only drop it around and inch?

the only thing thats really out there from my homework is the eibach prokit for about 240 shipped from ebay which it will give you about an inch drop or if you want to be able to go a little more extreme than they make megan coilover system for about 900 shipped (back order, which im waiting for). With the X model theirs not many options for suspension yet. Someone please correct me if im wrong. Still looking as i type. Hope this helps.

From what i have read before, a drop on the X will give you the "saggy bottom" look. Correct me if i'm wrong, but that is what i read on the forum. Someone has came up with a solution already

Thanks Mike! I've seen the Megan coilovers... but I've never heard of the brand, are they good quality? How would the ride quality be with a set of coilovers like this?

I believe this was for early adopters... more recently, Eibach has come out with springs for the X that does not create "saggy bottom". I'm pretty evenly spaced, front and rear.

I feel the springs do make things bouncier though. And on that note... my new sways feel like they diminish some of that bounce.

I just put an Eibach Pro-Kit on my 07 X. Im loving it. Handles much better and is definitely a noticeable drop without a saggy rear end. It will only sag if you put RWD sedan springs on the X.

Thanks for the link, WOW your ride is slammed! I'm not looking for anything near that extreme of a drop... How much do the BC's run? Would they allow for a mild drop?
