Another tpms question
Guys I just bought some rims that I will get tmwr. I dont want to swap out my stock sensors, however I have a set of wheels from a 07 Dodge GrandCaravan (yes I put rims on a minivan) sitting in my yard that has TPMS in them. I think I know the answer to this but I want to verify anyways. Can I take the ones out the wheels from the van and use them in my newly purchased wheels (MRR GT-1)?

Well guess I got my answer as i got my rims installed yesterday. The guy couldn't get one of my sensore off my old wheel, so he took one off a used rim he had in the shop and installed it on my new rims. With that said I have 3 factory sensors and 1 of some other brand. No tpms light as yet so there ya go for whoever didn't know and wanted to know. You can mix match.
Assuming you get one that's physically compatible, they are still uniquely encoded and need to be programmed into your car's TPMS system for identity and wheel location. Since you haven't gotten a light though, I am assuming your tire installer did that for you.

^ Actually the light finally came on yesterday. I took my car to the nissan dealership this morning, and for a whopping $50 the re-programed the tpms for me. I still have 3 OE and 1 off the wall sensor in there. All I care about is that the light is gone. I know the shop didn't do it for me because it wasn't a rim shop, just a shop that sell used tires and fixes flats. The rim shop wanted $295 to do the swap of tires and sensors (yea rite). $100 later my hispanic friends (not really friends) did it while I stood there and watched.
