I bought this car about 2 weeks ago and love it. I noticed during the test drive some pretty bad brake vibration when braking above 60MPH. They agreed to fix the brakes when I purchased the card and replaced all brake pads and turned the rotors. The replacement brake pads are OEM Part # D4M60-EG50C. It hasn't been even a week and the vibration is back and they are squealing pretty loud.
I checked the service record on this vehicle and it has already had the TSB for the splash guards which I understand could cause some brake vibrations.
I took the car in saturday to my local Infiniti dealer to have the steering wheel replaced for peeling and they said they cant do anything about the brakes since another dealer has worked on them. (A nissan/ mercedes benz dealer)
1. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with my brakes?
2. Does it sound like BS that my dealer cant do anything about the brakes because another car dealer has worked on them?
BTW the vibration is at all speeds now but not as bad.

In all fairness to the Infiniti dealership, I think it's fairly normal for followup warranty work (for their brake job) to be performed by whoever did that work. If you had an Infiniti dealer do the work initially, then I could see another Infiniti dealer may take it on, but since you didn't I highly doubt they would ever take it on. They have no way of knowing the quality of the servicing that was was done on it; even if the used Infiniti parts!.
If you're having problems with the brake job that you paid for, then take it back and give that shop the onus of making it right. I realize it was part of a sale, but if they're a reputable shop they should still make good on it if it's only been two weeks.

Thats interesting but how can splash guards make the braking worse? Curious.Originally Posted by dfaulk3

I would try taking it back and letting them know its still happening. If they don't want to fix it then I guess you can always get them to take the car back; I think you can if its within a certain amount of time. Usually if you threaten to give the vehicle back then they will fix it or whatever. I'm not entirely sure but thats what I would do.

What's funny is my local infiniti dealer doesn't recommend the oem pads, they put on some aftermarket ceramic ones insetad claiming they are much better. Who knows if it's bs or not, I'm still not paying over 300$ for a single axle brake job!
If you can't get the people who tried to fix it to take care of it, I'd just get some premium rotors from either ocautosports or r1concepts. I'm using hawk PC pads myself in the front with aftermarket xdrilled/slotted rotors from oc infiniti, so far no issues or rust on the rotors. If the dealer says its the last places crappy job they're gonna charge you a bunch anyways, you can get the aftermarket rotors and pads for less than that. Installing brake pads is less work than jacking up the car on stands lol. The rotors however are a little more work to take the caliper off
