R1 Premium Rotors and Rust/Corrosion

Recently installed a set of R1 premium slotted rotors. After the first hard rain there is heavy rust/corrosion on all rotors near the hub (area where pads don't touch).

Anyone else experience this with R1 rotors. Any advice on getting rid of it? Simple wash did nothing.

Thanks!

Its not just with R1 rotors it with every rotors including OEM on the areas not covered by the anti rust coating... i dont even notice it anymore but if it bothers you then sand of the rust and apply a coat of brake paint on that area(where the pad does NOT make contact near the hub) to keep it from happening again much like THIS guy did

That's why you get the zinc plated rotors no rust worries.

I agree, I painted mine with Brake Caliper paint and haven't had the problem since. Best to use black or silver.
