Just looking for some replacement shocks

I am looking for some replacement shocks for my wife's 2008 G35xS, probably the Tokico HP's unless someone has a better suggestion. I cant seem to find them.. most listings show up to the 2007 models. Any help? Maybe part numbers? Source?

KYB would work great for a DD especially a sedan. They're not expensive when compared to other quality shocks. www.thetirerack.com sell em for wholesale like their tires....Gary

When should shocks be replaced? My car has almost 84000 miles but I don't feel the ride being bouncy after bumps.

Most sites say that after 50k miles the shocks should be replaced as maintenance. Is this really true?

They say the same thing about oil changes.. 3k.. but to tell you the truth it all comes down the shock and driving.

Mine doesn't bounce down the road. I can just tell when I am pinning it around town and i have a slight rumble too.

Any change in feel?? I don't want to loose the stock feel but i think it is them or OEM. I would prefer bilstein double adj all the way around... but my wife wouldn't.

it also looks like the front left and right have different part numbers and both rears are the same.

How many miles are on your car? I live in the Northeast so my car has gone through quite a few potholes and bumps. I bet my Hotchkis sway bars help deteriorate my shocks quicker too.

Maybe I can't tell the difference between a car with bad shocks vs. a car with good shocks. I would have to drive a new car and my car to feel a difference.

mine has 90k but I am not sure if they were replaced before I bought it at 42k miles. I doubt it though.

Probably not if the recommended change interval by most mechanics is 50k miles. I bought mine at 21k miles.

I do realize that my car is a bit unstable when changing lanes or when it is windy out. You can buy KYB GR-2 shocks and find a 5% off coupon online from Rockauto and total for me comes to about $263 shipped, which is cheaper than any of the vendors on here.

I figure since they have lifetime warranty, they can be really replaced prematurely anyways.

Just letting the OP know, there are also Monroe OESpectrum struts available for the front for the X but not for the rear.

I got my struts and shocks replaced. Funny, my OEM shocks and struts did not seem bad at all. All of the pistons move up when compressed at about the same rate as the KYB. However, in the rear shocks, when they were fully compressed, they had a difficult time coming back up. Once the pistons started to come up, then they acted normally. The OEM shocks were made from Tokico.

As for the driving experience, not much has changed, but I do feel that the KYB does make the car feel more planted to the ground over the OEM shocks. I am able to change lanes on the highway without feeling any wobble.

All in all, I paid about $500 for the struts/shocks and the install.
