offsets to run on a 07 g35x? looking to buy new wheels

Haven't posted on the forum before but I've been reading on here a lot to get to know my car a little better. I decided to get new wheels for my awd g35 sedan. The question I have is what offsets can I run without having to do any fender rolling or having a negative camber. I'm currently on my stock 17s and the offsets for them are 45 all around. Another question I have, is it that bad going staggered on the x? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

You can run staggered but you need to keep your rolling diameter as close to OEM as possible as there's been members w/ issues at speeds over 80 mph if variance is over 1%.

What size rims are you wanting (width & height) and will you be lowering your G?

alot also depends on if you want to lower your car

remember the lower you are the smaller the offset can be as well.

i am lowered and i used to be +25 with 19x8 wheels on an X

every set of aftermarket wheels i have run square which i would recommend or else you have do do what blnewt mentioned

Well the thing with lowering mine is that I would love to get coilovers on it but that's something I don't have the money for now. So if I did want to lower it I'd be have to get springs and I'm worried that when I do my struts will go bad soon after. My car has 110k miles on it and the suspension is all stock. Looks like I'm going to go square tho which seems the best for the x. For the wheels I was thinking 18x8 unless you guys have any other suggestions?

might as well go 19's then if youre gonna go aftermarket.

there wont be an offset that will look right for springs/coils/OEM so just know whatever you get now probably will have to change when you get another suspension set up.

if i had to recommend something i would look for something that 19x8 +30-40 maybe

Dont you think that if I do get 19s the car will have kind of an suv look given the g sits kinda tall for the awd model

Well 19s are better than 20s for stock height. If you go square you could do what ChinkyChoy mentioned and get more conservative offsets, then use spacers if you go lower to keep them closer to flush. If you have a time frame for getting coilovers and you can live w/ the "poked look" for a few months then you can get more aggressive offsets and just live w/ that look for the short term. A decent square setup that's easy to live with would be something like 18x9 +40 w/ 245/45/18 all around or 19x9 +40 w/ 245/40/19 on all fours. You could go to a +35 offset for better look when you drop. If you want a bit narrower set the size CC mentioned would be OK.
I'd save up for coilovers if your stock shocks have 110k miles.

Thanks a lot to both of you! Now all I need to do is figure out which set of wheels will look the best on my car. Can't decide if I want matte black, hyper silver or gunmetal rims. I have the platinum graphite color g.

I have OEM sport 18" wheels in Graphite if your interested in what they look like. I have them for sale as well since I didn't want staggered on my X. The rolling diameter is well within the spec of acceptable, but I wanted the ability to rotate my tires.

If you could post a pic up of how they look and sit on your car. Also how much are you looking to get for them and what are the offsets?

I think they are 40 and 45 offset. They are OEM wheels just off the sport model G and 18". Looking to get $500 plus shipping.

Yeah I actually have the same ones just in silver and 17s. If I'm gonna go aftermarket I might as well change the look not just the color. Thanks anyway tho if I change my mind I'll let you know. Those would be a good winter setup

They didn't make the split 7 spokes in 17" FWIW. The Specs of the 18" sport wheels are~
2007-2008 18" sport wheels
Front: 18x7.5 +45mm offset (appx 23.7lbs)
Rear: 18x8.5 +50mm offset (appx 22.4lbs)

You're right that was my mistake. They are almost identical tho I mean the design is very similar just that the 17s are split 5 spoke hence the confusion. Either way I'll have to pass on these. I'm looking for something different

Have you considered going with the 19" sport wheels from the G37 coupe? They look awesome on the sedan. They give the car more upgraded / aggressive OEM look and the offset is perfect with a drop on eibach springs. You can still run staggered wheels and keep the same size tires all around like I did.

Here's a thread with some pics.
