Exhaust sound without resonators?

Has anybody removed the resonators? I like the way my exhaust sounds right now but ide like it a tad bit more aggressive sounding. Would removing the resonators make it sound raspy or sound bad? Reason i ask is because i can get the res removed and replaced with a straight pipe for 20 bucks where as new glass packs would be about 150.

A few people have done it...I think limited success though. There are a few threads out there on it. I just found this one off a quick search.
